Technology knowledge with the patience to explain it.
717 Tech Help combines more than 20 years of technology experience with a background in teaching, coaching, training, and helping people work through challenges without making them feel foolish.
Technology support has always been about people.
The device may be what stopped working, but the real problem is usually what that interruption prevents someone from doing.
My name is Dan Mickle, and I have spent more than two decades working with technology in different forms. That experience has included computers, networks, websites, digital tools, media systems, instructional technology, troubleshooting, training, and helping people make sense of systems that often feel more confusing than they need to be.
Along the way, I also became an educator, coach, and performance consultant. Those roles reinforced something I had already learned through technology support: knowing the answer is not enough. You also have to be able to explain it, listen carefully, adjust your approach, and give people space to ask questions.
717 Tech Help grew from that combination of technology knowledge and patient communication. The goal is not to impress customers with technical vocabulary. The goal is to help them solve a problem, understand what happened, and feel more confident about the next step.
You should never feel embarrassed for asking a technology question. Technology is supposed to serve people, not make them feel inadequate.
There is a gap between doing it yourself and calling a large repair chain.
Many people need someone who can look at the whole situation, explain the options clearly, and help without turning every interaction into a sales pitch.
People deserve patience
Good support should allow time for questions, repetition, explanation, and decisions without making the customer feel rushed.
Local relationships matter
Customers should know who they are working with and feel comfortable reaching out again when another technology question appears.
Recommendations should be practical
Not every problem requires new equipment, expensive software, or a complicated solution. The right recommendation depends on the customer.
Technology skills are only part of what good support requires.
717 Tech Help draws on experience across technology, education, communication, coaching, and digital systems.
Technology troubleshooting
Experience with computers, devices, networking, software, websites, digital systems, and everyday technical problems.
Teaching and instructional design
Experience breaking complicated information into manageable steps and adapting explanations for different learners.
Coaching and communication
Experience listening, asking better questions, building confidence, and helping people move forward without taking over the entire process.
Websites and digital presence
Experience with WordPress, domains, business email, online forms, content systems, media, and basic digital integrations.
Solve the problem, explain the process, respect the customer.
A successful support experience is more than a device working again. The customer should understand what changed, what remains unresolved, and what they may need to do next.
Local support should feel personal, reliable, and easy to understand.
717 Tech Help is designed to serve people, families, businesses, and organizations throughout Central Pennsylvania. The local focus is not just part of the name. It shapes how the business should communicate, respond, and build long-term relationships.
